Worship: Birth Pangs

Mark 13:1-8; Hebrews 10:11-25 | Even before we tune into the news, it’s likely we could predict the stories we’ll hear. There’s seemingly a pattern to news cycles, and even more so, a pattern to human behavior throughout history. Seeing this, it may feel as though we’re caught in a never-ending cycle of the same story without hope of any change. But amidst everything around us and within us, God promises to deliver new life into this world. We await this life – in all its fullness – with hope and expectation. But as we wait, we don’t do so passively. Instead, we – as the church – are called to be midwives to what God is already doing. So this weekend, take a moment to hold fast to the assurance of our God who is faithful, and pick up your work gloves while you’re at it. For God’s reign is about to be delivered.
